About Me – Professional

I am a Software Development Engineer, with a passion for building quality web applications.

With more than 10 years of international experience; including 5 years of experience in the Silicon Valley in California, I have developed strong expertise in Software Development, following processes that combine best practices, efficiency and quality.

 In 2007 I decided to create Web Nodes – Software Development.A company focused on custom software development and systems/application integration. Using Microsoft’s .Net framework as our development platform, Web Nodes has developed application for small, medium and large corporations, mostly working on data-driven solutions, which are implemented with a combination of web applications, web services, window services and (in occasion) windows executable.

Prior to Web Nodes, I spent some time working at the corporate level in Canada: From 2006 to 2007 I worked as a Technical Lead/Development Manager at Trader Corporation,where I worked in the backend of sites such as www.trader.ca and www.CanadaTrader.com.

From 2005 to 2006 I worked as a Senior Software Developer at Loblaws, in charge of the development for www.presidentschoice.ca.

Before moving to Canada, I worked 5 years in the Silicon Valley and the Los Angeles area (from 2000 to 2005); where I obtained most of my experience and expertise. During my time in California I worked for 2 companies: Auctiva Corporationwhich focuses on developing tools for users of eBay, both sellers and buyers. In Auctiva I worked for 3+ and years as a Lead Web Developer and led the development efforts for sites like www.auctiva.com and www.auctionsniper.com.

I also worked in UNX, a provider of on-line trading  for institutional investors, as a Software Developer designing and developing back-end web applications. Working at UNX was one of the most rewarding professional experiences I’ve had, given the type of solutions they provide, I learned a great deal about software development processes, best practices and quality assurance.

From 1997 to 2000 I worked on my home country of Colombia, where I formed a development company Nodos Development in partnership with Lacides Guzman. We developed www.infofinanciera.com, which was awarded with the Best Content Site award in 2000.
